The Book of Ayurveda: A guide to personal wellbeing (Gaia 1994 ISBN 1-85675-007-8) A practical modern guide to using this ancient healing system of India for personal health. Ayurveda defines your likely patterns of health and ill-health by assessing your body type. The book presents a lifestyle guide tailored to the individual, based on three fundamental energies ─ vata, pitta and kapha. It encourages you to know who you are, why you stay healthy and why you become sick. The book suggests how to change your diet and daily life to suit your constitution and maximise your enjoyment of living.
The Ayurveda Lifestyle Workbook: An easy introduction to using Ayurveda in Western daily life is based on materials I used at introductory workshops on Ayurveda and is used with The Book of Ayurveda: A guide to personal wellbeing. Working through the readings, exercises and assessments in both books will enable you to start seeing your life through the lens of Ayurveda and utilizing its lifestyle principles. The Ayurveda Lifestyle Workbook can be used in groups, with one or two friends or for individual exploration of how the doshas, (vital energies) affect your wellbeing.
