LINGs LOCAL INTEGRATED NOT-FOR-PROFIT GROUPS |
What are LINGs? ─ people sharing their skills, enthusiasm and generosity to make differences to fellow members of their community, improving their own and their neighbours’ quality of life. The LING idea is not new and existing examples range from charities, large and small, to kindnesses between neighbours. By giving the concept a name, LINGs, we hope others will be empowered to share their own creativity and put their ideas into action. |
| Some LINGs will be formal and need a legal framework; other LINGs will be informal. Ideas for LINGs will show up where changes in laws are needed to allow practical, local initiatives that will improve quality of lives. | |
| Integrated Care: A discussion document says more about LINGs and is a contribution to the debate on how we care for each other, both through taxpayer funding and as individuals. | |
| Social Care LINGs outlines our ideas for networking those requiring the assistance of paid carers and support workers with those wanting to be employed as carers. | |
| LING News will grow to be a resource as ideas and solutions are shared and networks of LINGs spread through communities. | |
